Vergi Harbor and Wirkes’ Restaurant in Lahemaa come alive every summer – the sea, nature, people, and flavors create an atmosphere that draws both locals and international guests. In recent years, Estonia’s small marinas have become increasingly popular, and the summer of 2025 proved that a Lahemaa vacation has won the hearts of German travelers, Finnish visitors, and Estonian holidaymakers alike.
Vergi Harbor Hotel in Lahemaa: Four Months Fully Booked

One of the biggest surprises this summer was our Lahemaa accommodation – four months in a row completely fully booked! Even if there was one free room at Vergi Harbor in the morning, by lunchtime it was already taken. Many of our rooms were reserved as early as January when German guests, travel agencies, and other international visitors planned their Estonian vacations.
This means that at the peak of summer, spontaneous Estonian travelers often had few chances to stay with us. The good news, however, is that Wirkes’ Restaurant and Hotel in Lahemaa at Vergi Harbor are open year-round. In autumn and winter, you can come for a peaceful getaway, work remotely, or simply enjoy the sea and silence.
Visitor Numbers and Seasonal Rhythm
Looking at the Lahemaa summer visitor trends, the pattern was clear: June started slowly, July was fantastic and full of life, but August saw a decline due to chilly weather.
Unlike last year, when Finnish and German guests often stayed for two or three nights, this summer most visitors stayed only one night. Part of the reason was maritime safety concerns – several boats turned back after seeing large Coast Guard vessels and chose different destinations.
Harbor Life: More Berths and More Activity
This summer, harbor tourism in Estonia was in full swing. Boats from home ports like Eisma, Võsu, and Käsmu kept finding their way to Vergi Harbor to eat, relax in the sun, and simply enjoy the vibe. A network of small marinas along the Lahemaa coast is gradually emerging, bringing new life to the region.
And of course, we can’t forget the moment that created a real buzz in our harbor this year – the arrival of the yacht Mojito! It showed that even larger vessels fit in just fine. It was the talk of the week and gave us another reason to be proud that Estonian small harbors are ready to welcome bigger guests too.
Vergi Harbor itself also took a big step forward. This summer we added four new guest berths, a dedicated pier for fishermen, and three additional spots for fishing boats. All this makes Lahemaa harbor vacations more comfortable for both locals and international visitors.

Events and Future Plans
While in previous years Vergi Harbor events brought live music and lively gatherings, this year we were more cautious. Too many last-minute cancellations made it difficult to offer a reliable program for our guests.
But for summer 2026, we plan to bring open-air events back – bigger and better than before. More music, more activities, and more reasons to visit Estonian small harbors and enjoy Lahemaa nature tourism in all its beauty.

Open Year-Round: Autumn and Winter with a New Mood
It’s important to remember that Wirkes’ Restaurant and Vergi Harbor accommodation are open year-round. That means even in autumn and winter you can relax, enjoy dishes made from local Estonian ingredients, and experience the sea and nature in a completely different atmosphere.
Whether it’s a weekend getaway, remote work escape, or romantic evening for two – Lahemaa accommodation and Wirkes’ Restaurant await you in every season.
Gratitude and Looking Ahead
A heartfelt thank you to all our guests who visited us this summer. Your presence gives us the energy and confidence that next summer will bring even more life, more experiences, and more reasons to visit Vergi Harbor and Estonian small harbors again and again.
